We are a2o, a collective of multidisciplinary designers with a shared passion for architecture, urban landscapes, and spatial transitions. Our team is composed of architects, architectural engineers, interior designers, urban designers, and landscape designers from various nationalities. We are united by our shared values and our commitment to creating spaces that connect users, architecture, and the environment in a sustainable way. Our work revolves around facilitating dialogue between buildings and public spaces, and between diverse users. We design buildings that connect to their environment, conscious of the effects our interventions have on the larger scale of the village, city, or landscape. We see our mission as a search for architecture, a cultural act leading to building. We strive to create spaces that are meaningful through social, cultural, and historical values, reinforcing the sociocultural narrative of each place. We believe in the resilience of spaces, both existing and newly designed ones, to outlive their primary life cycle and accommodate new users or functions. We also value nature as a counterpart to building, and we aim to give room to nature in private and public outdoor spaces. We are not just dreamers, but also doers with a firm grip on reality. We share our knowledge through publications, lectures, and expositions, continuously treading a fine line between the academic world, the arts, and society. We are inspired by the world around us, and we strive to inspire others in return.
