I contacted EWS last year and spoke at length to Christophe about our plans for a solar panel and battery installation. I greatly valued his friendly and unbiased expert advice on the different options and factors to take into account for our particular situation and priorities. A detailed offer followed soon afterwards. We finally chose EWS from several offers received, not least on account of the confidence I had in the advice provided by EWS. The 14 panels + 10kWH battery + hybrid inverter with smart meter accessory were installed a few weeks later in September 2023. The installation was done quickly and efficiently by a friendly team of technicians and I was able to regularly monitor our PV yield via the FusionSolar app provided. Up till then it was a five star experience. A few months later, after considering plans to replace my ancient gas boiler with a heat pump, I asked for a quote for an additional 10 PV panels + 2nd inverter to provide additional capacity to run a heat pump. To my surprise several weeks passed before getting a response from the EWS office. After reminders I finally received an offer which is in principle acceptable, but in the meantime I have experienced a problem requiring a minimum of after-sales support which hasn't yet been resolved. I had to replace my old TP-Link powerline Wifi extender with a new unit which required a change to our Wifi's SSID and password (in theory it should have been possible to revert to the previous settings, but googling the problem confirmed that in practice this was not a durable solution). Since then we've lost the Wifi connection to the Huawei SUN2000 inverter, and I can no longer use the related FusionSolar app. My attempts to resolve this situation over the last few weeks have been fruitless: the screenshots in the documentation provided by EWS to change the relevant settings didn't correspond to the latest version of the FusionSolar app and despite several attempts to follow the instructions provided I have been unable to re-establish the Wifi connection. Maybe a wired ethernet connection to the inverter via the powerline set up could resolve the problem, but that hasn't been suggested. So after a five star experience with the EWS initial contacts and the 20th September 2023 installation I'm now very disappointed by the lack of effective after-sales support and wondering whether I should contact another company for a more reliable follow up. To summarize: five stars for an excellent start (the PV panels are providing a good yield which I can monitor with a ca 48hr delay via the Fluvius app), reduced to three stars due to slow responsiveness in following up a request for a quote to extend our PV array and the failure to help resolve a connectivity problem over the last few weeks.
